Midwest Mission Distribution
Center The Midwest Mission Distribution Center (MMDC) is a mission project related to the United Methodist Church whose ongoing mission is to help those in need throughout the Midwest, the nation, and the world. Daily work at the center varies. Jobs for our mission team included: sorting, packing and shipping disaster response relief items, sewing, office assistance, general maintenance and grounds keeping. Our team stayed in the MMDS dormitory on site for two nights, worked at the Center for one to 1½ days and worked at a soup kitchen in downtown Springfield. Cost was $50 per person plus transportation and meals. This amount was required by MMDC to reserve our space.
