We’re Going to the Souper Bowl
The Souper Bowl of Caring that is!

Sometimes the world’s problems seem so big that it’s hard to think we can do something about them… millions of people are starving, what can we do?   More than you think, is the answer.

Typically, over 140 million Americans tune in to the Super Bowl football game.  There are parties with abundant food, friendship and fellowship.  At the same time, there are be people worrying about staying warm, finding shelter and a warm meal.  Our church's youth have joined young people around the country as they demonstrate God’s love by loving their neighbors through the Souper Bowl of Caring.

The youth and the rest of the congregation bring canned soup and other pre-packaged goods to the church on Super Bowl Sunday.  100% of the proceeds goes to the local food pantry of our choice.  This year (2009) the Junior High Youth collected 143 food items and $583 in cash which was donated to the Salvation Army emergency shelter.
