2010 Senior High Work Camp

In 2008, the area around Munster, Indiana experienced devastating floods causing hundreds of families to leave their homes.  Many have not yet been able to return.  This past summer, from Saturday, June 26th through Saturday, July 3, Wesley Workcamp will joined with other agencies to help elderly, handicapped, or low income homeowners in the affected area to renovate their homes so they can return.

This year, Wesley middle school youth aged 13 years old and older were eligible to attend.  Wesley youth in middle school who are younger than 14 must have a parent present.  In addition, college-age adults and older are also eligible to attend as advisors.  A special need of the workcamp this year was for an adult or two to serve as a cook.

Wesley teamed with middle and senior high teenagers and adult advisors from the First UMC of Marshall, Missouri.

The cost of the workcamp was $50 for each participant.
Anyone with questions about workcamp should contact Don Barnett.
