Mid-Mo Military Family Pantry

Donations of these items will be used to help local veterans and their families. Your donated items can be placed in the Mission Cafe area at Wesley UMC. Thank you for your continued support. The Mid-Mo Military Family Pantry helps central Missouri military families and veterans.

The pantry is located in the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) State Headquarters office. The phone number for the Food Pantry is 573-636-8761.

The Life of A Single Mom

The Life of a Single Mom is a ministry held once a month at Wesley UMC. We meet from 6–7:30 pm on the third Tuesday of each month (Sept.—May). The group's mission is to bring Jesus' love and joy to single moms and their children. All single mothers are welcome.

Childcare is provided for children ages birth—middle school.

The Life of a Single Mom meets during the school year and takes a break during the summer months.

Room at the Inn Overnight Shelter

The Room at the Inn overnight shelter for the homeless/unhoused individuals within our community will again be in operation this winter at First Baptist Church in downtown Jefferson City.  To facilitate its opening on December 1st, several events will be happening in the near future:

-          Set up of the facility was completed this past Sunday morning in conjunction with the Mission JC local event.

-          Two open houses will be hosted for anyone wishing to come by the shelter and see how it is set up and functions during its operational times. They are:

o   Thursday, October 23 from 6-7:30 PM

o   Saturday, October 25, from 9-10:30 AM

-          Volunteer Orientation Night will be Thursday, November 13, starting at 6:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall at First Baptist Church.  A spaghetti supper will be provided starting at 6:00 PM prior to the program at 6:30 PM. The program will be an informational update on the Room at the Inn, and operational procedures for this year.

-          An additional Lunch and Learn program  will be offered at First Baptist Church in Fellowship Hall beginning at 12:15PM

o   November 11, with guest speaker Shara Hamilton, Room at the Inn Executive Committee Chairperson

-          To sign up to help on any of the daily operational shifts or to provide meals to the guests, Sign-up Genius will be operational beginning November 1.  Access to this portal can be found on the Room at the Inn Facebook page.

Anyone who is interested in the Room at the Inn overnight shelter and would like to know more  as to what it is all about,  please come to any of the above informational meetings.

Wesley Mission Team Volunteer

‘Za Game Night at Wesley UMC

Game night meets on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 6–10 pm. Kids and adults of all ages are welcome! You are welcome to bring your own games or play the games others bring: just make sure that the games are good for all ages.

Community Garden

If you or anyone you know in our community enjoys gardening but doesn't have the space to do so, we have a suggestion: 

Rent a space at the Wesley UMC Pinwheel Community Garden!

Each plot is approximately 20' X 20' and the rent is $30.  Last year’s gardeners will get the first opportunity to renew their rental plot. After that, applications will be taken on a first come first serve basis. Applications can be obtained by contacting the church office via email at wumcjeffcity@gmail.com or picked up at the church office, 2727 Wesley St., Monday—Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
